Things to do as a group in Bournemouth

Bournemouth is a great place for students with so much to do. However, while a student, it can be hard finding the perfect thing to for a flat or house outing, or even with a couple of coursemates. Here are a few ideas of some of the best things to do in Bournemouth where you can get a full group of you involved.

Karaoke

It sounds cringe, and, if your group of friends is anything like mine, then it probably will be one of the cringiest nights you might have ever had, but hidden in the streets of Charminster is this amazing place called ‘The Karaoke Rooms’. Here, for just £15 per person, you can get a whole karaoke room to yourself for two hours, a whole buffet of finger food and a cocktail jug on arrival. Or, if you fancy a bit of a posher affair for dinner, you can have a 3-course Chinese buffet and then your 2 hours karaoke for £22 per person. It’s a hilarious night out.

Bicycle hire

If you fancy something to get you out in the fresh air (or maybe a potential hangover cure), then the perfect way to explore the coastline is to rent bikes (you can do so on the right by the pier). An hour is £6, or it’s £12 for 3 hours which gives you enough time to pedal all the way up to Hengistbury Head and back down to Sandbanks. The bikes are fully serviced and come with a repair kit, so there is no faff with fixing bikes and bringing bikes in from home.

Escape Rooms

This is perfect for a birthday treat or a special occasion, and Bournemouth has over 5 different Escape Rooms where you can book a session for up to 6 people at around £25 per person. The session typically lasts an hour, and each room has a different theme: carnival; scientist; a dungeon, which can all get pretty scary. If you’re a bit of a thrill seeker and looking for a way to have a good trip out (with or without alcohol – though it may take you longer if you do it with), then Escape Rooms are the perfect way to get out and do something different.

Laser Tag

Ok, so this may not be this first thing in your head as a typical group activity in Bournemouth, but on a rainy day, this is honestly so much fun. On a Tuesday night between 6 and 10 pm, there’s a special student deal where you can get three games for £7 (other times, it’s three games for £12). It’s a good way to mess around and not have to worry about deadlines or house/flat dynamics and pretend you are a kid again.

These are a few of my favourite things to do with friends in Bournemouth, but there are so many others, so it’s worth having a look round and seeing what looks good! Have I missed anything out? Let me know in the comments below.
