#FoundSound: The Starling Radicals

March 3, 2016 — by Imogen Byers

Arena-ready rock from Cardiff.

How to describe the sound of The Starling Radicals? Think Ryan Adams crossed with Manic Street Preachers.

Following their impressive debut album in the summer of 2014, the Welsh power rock trio have used the intervening time wisely to craft their next arena-ready rock opus ‘Another Shade of Gloom’, adding to an already impressive live arsenal.

Frontman George Toulouse’s powerful, larynx-shredding rasp straddles the gap between that of James Dean Bradfield and AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson, driving the band hard and fast as one of the must-hear acts of 2016.

With album ‘Saintland’ receiving substantial air-time on BBC Radio Wales, as well as being listed as one of the best new sounds from Wales Online, The Starling Radicals are definitely ones to watch and will no doubt be creating big waves this year.
